LA Dive Sites

White Point is one of LA's most popular dive spots. It is located close to hypo-thermal hotsprings and features white bacterial moss. There is also an old shipwreck, rock coral, and kelp beds at this dive site. These are all common sights. High tide is the best time for diving.

Leo Carillo

Leo Carrillo is a California state park that lies along the southern coast in Los Angeles County. It is part the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. The park has 1.5 miles stretch of beach that extends to the Santa Monica Mountains. The pristine waters off Leo Carrillo State Park are a great place for scuba divers.

Divers have the option to choose from three main sites at Leo Carrillo. These sites are perfect for beginners because they offer easy entry points as well as ample parking. These sites are also popular for night diving, lobster hunting, and you'll find plenty of marine life.

Santa Barbara Island

Santa Barbara Island has some great offshore dive spots. Visitors can hop on a visiting boat to get out to these dive sites. These sites are usually rocky and are good hunting and photography grounds. These areas are also home to many healthy kelp bed and purple hydro Coral. It is also a great spot for swimming in Southern California waters.


You can also go snorkeling or kayaking on the island. You can also tent camp if the weather is good. It is also home to large numbers of pinnipeds such as harbor seals, northern Elephant seals, and California Sea Lions. These animals can also be found in the rocky areas around a sea lion rookery. They are located at many overlooks on island.

Anacapa Island

Anacapa Island has a diverse marine life. One of the United States’ first Marine Protected Areas has been established in this area. It offers diving that is both great for novices and experienced divers. The waters around the island have a moderately warm temperature, which makes them ideal for wetsuit diving. In the fall and late summer, surface temperatures can reach 70 degrees F (21 degrees Celsius). In the winter, temperatures can plummet to 50°F (10°C). Using a 7mm wetsuit is recommended. Visibility is usually at least 100 feet (30M) during these months.

You can reach Anacapa by diving charter boats as well as the Island Packers. You will find many dive sites on the island, including a 40-foot tall arch rock. These sites can be viewed by snorkeling gear.

Veteran's Park

Veteran's Park is a Green Space on Ocean Drive that has a playground and fields. This is a wonderful place for families to come together. It is located close to the beaches. The park offers a spectacular view of the ocean on a sunny day. The park is open all year and offers a lot of activities.

Parking is easy. Veteran's Park makes it an ideal location to start your diving adventure. It's easy to reach with parking and restrooms. The meter can be checked at all times. There's also an outdoor shower that can be used to clean up your gear. There is also a changing area. However, the restrooms are closed at dusk.
